How classic. In order to get your point across your throw out the "I've got xxx+ years in the xxx business" and continue with "I have the knowledge to go toe to toe with just about any engineer" Dude are you serious? Your arrogance is incredible. Also nice USE OF CAPS to get your point across. You are a piece of work.

Valid points. And, I wouldn't make the suggestion that I made unless I had actually tested it myself.

You're right about over engineering, and that's specifically what you do when you're not on a budget. This guy was looking for a good budget choice, and that's what I suggested.

        a0128,

Not sure why you choose to poke me in the eye. Caps were used for EMPHASIS, Very hard to read vocal infliction when you're typing.

Don't you think it's important to state that I'm not some poser with an opinion (and I am NOT saying that MLA is)? If you were an expert in something, with years of actual hands on knowledge, (and new to the forum), it would help indicate that in fact you know what you're talking about? And, having many years experience alone does not make you an expert in something, I realize that.

I'm simply trying to help a guy out by offering a suggestion for a value priced amplifier. My suggestion was challenged and I backed it up.

Did you have something relevant to add TO THE ORIGINAL QUESTION, or did you just want to take issue with what I wrote?

        Yes, I used CAPS again.

C'mon MLA, you know it HAS to be a Holiday Inn Express! A Holiday in won't cut it...they usually have a bar that would cause a loss of productivity

I'm almost afraid to write on this thread now... Didn't realize or intend to start this, but back to my original question... I have found a syn4 for $350 with free ship and no tax, i know it wasn't mentioned in the original suggestions and it was more than I was hoping to spend- but maybe I can get ~$100 from my used polk on ebay, and at that price its too good of a deal to walk away? Like I said before I'm a rookie- maybe 4 channel is a bad idea and I should shop for only 2 channel amps? I only ask because of its price... Well that and one says 700w vs the other says 800. Otherwise I am leaning at this point to picking up a second Polk 4000.4, which was an option I'd never though of myself but kind of like. Thanks, and happy black Friday everyone.

The Syn-4 is an awesome amp, just not what you need for your application.

As mentioned a Single Syn 4 for this setup is not the answer.

Found another Polk 4000.4 for cheap, ($155 new no tax and free shipping) should get the job done and be ready to play by summer- thank you everyone for your help on this... Might be back with install/tuning questions once it arrives. Thanks again, hopefully all of your winter projects are going well.
