2013 Factory Roswell 6x9's info

Hello,

New to the forum.

Interested in purchasing a 2013 SAN 230

It comes with the factory Roswell 6x9 pods (4 of them).

Are these any good?

Thinking of replacing with WS or Exile.

If I do replace, is there a market for these pods? Are they worth anything?

With quality amp wattage, a 6x9 coaxial makes for a decent surf/party cove setup. So yes, they can be good for the right application. If want wake range projection, then you should certainly look into an HLCD from a company like Wet Sounds. For the money, the 10" Rev-10 would be at the top of the food chain. A single pair would give you wake range projection as well great near field sound quality. A smaller 8" like the Rev-8 or xm9 (yes, its actually an 8") would give you good wake range projection and still have decent near field SQ.

I could have sworn the Roswell Pods were they're own unique HLCD from Roswell not just 6x9 coax's. Which when powered correctly. Look great and sound good too.

I went against the grain and went with Exile my last purchase. Was just tired of Wetsounds and wanted something different than everyone on the lakes. Love the sound,the looks, and the simplicity of the quick release on my XM9's. Put me in the happy Exile camp.

The factory Roswells came in two versions - straight 6x9 speakers and the HLCD version. Both are good. The ones you have will sound better in close range, but will struggle to get sound out to the rider at wakeboarding length.

If you want to stick with Roswell, you should check out the Neptunes. Great speakers! I had a really nice Roswell setup on my 2015 G23. Check it out about half way down on this page.

How do you know if the Roswells are the HLCD version or not?

Also note, the roswell HLCD is a 6.5" round speaker as opposed to a 6" x 9" oval. A 6x9 is going to be more comparable to an 8" round.

What about the 6X9 replacement speakers that Wetsounds makes? Are they any good?

If your primary goal is wake range projection, then yes, they are a viable option, but I do not know for how they would fit on those pods. Gut says they will fit. Feed then a solid 200W rms.

Got myself a set too and trying to mount them on titan tower, anyone knows what are the tower clamps on that picture with hlcd ?
