I keep looking around and can't seem to find a lot of info on what works well or what is the best way to put some good bass in this boat. Looking for ideas...

I used a JL 12W3 and created I box to their recommendations off their site http://www.jlaudio.com/12w3v3-4-car-...-drivers-92154. ( Look under recommended enclosed box size ) and it fits perfectly in front of the garbage can even have a 1000 watt amp sitting on top of the box. You really want a box that is deigned for the Sub you are purchasing.
Also ventilated the garbage can door with some stainless wire mesh which keeps amps getting airflow as well as let's the bass out It hits really hard.
Don't know what kind of sub is behind the driver seat in a 2015. I replaced the stock 10 with a JL 10 inch open air and it made a huge difference as well. http://www.jlaudio.com/m10ib5-sg-wh-...-drivers-91733
Hope this helps.

There is a guy named Ryan from lake Anna and he has a 2015 G23 that he took the factory location and cut the hole out bigger and mounted 15in Fi IB3 that is a free air sub that will fit in the factory location with a little cutting! He also cut a vent where the trash can spot was and added a custom grill for it to breath. I heard his boat last year it sounded insane bass was so deep and was heard at all volumes. But far the best boat I have heard with factory mounted sub! For reference Seth his review "G23 stock sub upgrade and Fi IB3 review" don't know if the location and sub is the same on the 230 but thought this could help! Good Luck!

Take a look at the stickie thread in the forum "let's see it". There's a 230 with sub firing into walk thru and axe's 230 vented to keep trash can.

Well, here is the latest plan for bass. Looks like we're going with an Arc KS2500 and running two 12" Memphis Audio M6 subs in a sealed box behind the observer's seat. We're sacrificing the sacred garbage can. My installer says if that's not enough bass, we still have enough power for two more 12's in a larger enclosure, but we'd need to relocate the existing amps and batteries out of the port side to make room. His opinion was not to cut anything out of the observer's seat base for ventilation since he says that method doesnt do enough. He said if there's gonna be any cutting, it needs to happen in the walk through. He also plans to fire both subs towards the hull. Anyone disagree with this plan so far?

Well, you're installer is correct in that a single vent under the observers seat by itself is not enough surface area. However, it is low to the sole and venting is directly into the cockpit area. In that respect it is ideal. The issue with a vent in the pass-thru is that it is higher, and halfway between the cockpit and bow zone, thus half the radiation from the vent is free to dissipate forward in the bow direction. Options are limited. But I would not overlook the secondary cockpit vent.
As for woofer orientation, in this case, I like the two woofers on opposite sides of the same enclosure. This lowers some of the more tactile vibration that gets transmitted through the boat.
Installers have their own ideas, and usually stand by them firmly. So just a couple of ideas for his digestion.
