    Removal of in boat speakers 2002 super air

    What is the easiest way to remove these in boats speakers , they have a mesh like cover over them and they sit way back in the vinyl, any suggestions what is the best way to take them out. Thanks for the help in advance (2002 super air nautique)

    You need to remove the vinyl pad. There are some nuts behind each one. The speakers are actually mounted to the fiberglass behind them. Search on here. There are quite a few threads showing people replacing speakers on similar boats.

            After removing the panels from the boat and taking out the old speakers I just removed the mesh from the plastic rings, got long stainless screws, put new speaker in place, and screwed directly into the hard backing the vinyl is attached to. Then I clipped off the excess on the long screws protruding out the back and I was done. Reinstalled panel and connected the speakers. It might not be the most elegant but the speakers are tight against the vinyl and install looks the same as in the thread above. Plan to do the same in the front soon. Just haven't gotten there yet because hardly anyone ever sits up there. That's the sitting area for the front fat sacs.
