I have a 2007 211 currently with the following factory items: Clarion 280m and 480m amplifiers, with 6 new polk cabin speakers and the original polk sub in the factory plastic box.
I recently bought one of those Wetsounds HT-4 amps that was on sale, and a set of Roswell Airborne HLCD speakers from a member on here, and a new wetsounds 420SQ and RCAs to wire it all.
My question is in regards to the new amp. Should I open the black breaker box located under the walk-thru and wire the new amp into the breaker box to maintain the ability to completely isolate the amps from the batteries? Or should I wire the new amp directly to the battery? Another idea would be to re-wire the currently installed factory amps at the same time, i.e. run heavy gauge cable from the battery to a power distribution fuse block and then to the 3 amps to make sure they are getting the appropriate power?
I think adding the 4 or 6 gauge wire to the black breaker box would look "clean" but understand that may not be the most correct way of doing it.
I also am going to remove the plastic sub box and put an appropriately sized box back in there (with a new polk db 10" sub) on the floor to use the extra bulkhead space for the new amp. In the end the 280--> powering the sub, the 480--> powering 4 of the in-boats, and the HT-4 --> powering the towers.
Thoughts??
I did try to search this thread, but there are many threads pre 2010 time frame that no longer have the pictures in the threads themselves.
Thanks!
Tim
