Realestate wise, two mhd600/4 is not taking up that much more space than a single m800/8, so if there is room to cleanly add a 2nd, then go with mhd600/6.

The room part is pretty easy and I've pre wired for a second 600/4 when I installed the first. Figured I'd just stack them like the JL advertisement shows. The 600 is up high on my rack so it's out of the way but I worry about the punishment it may take from bouncing in a boat.

Four discrete channels of the strictly regulated HD600/4 would be roughly equal power to eight channels bridged into four of an unregulated XD800/8.

Stacking two HD amplifiers? It will change the thermal performance. No problem in an air conditioned vehicle cabin. It can be a concern in a boat, especially in Texas in July/Aug.

I would be concerned about stacking as well. if you have room for the 800/8, then 2-3 more inches and youve got room for a pair of 600/4 side by side.

That is another point worth making, "....side by side." I have seen a difference in thermal performance between side-by-side (a good method) versus one amplifier mounted directly over and tightly above another amplifier (to be avoided when possible).

10-4 Thanks for the feedback. I've got plenty of room.
