My 2015 G23 Stereo Build Pics

Ok so I know there are only a few build pics or complete stereo pics of people gutting and upgrading their G sound systems. I would like to share it for the people like me who do/did countless forum hunting and asking of questions of what can or can't work. So here's mine.
1 pair of Rev 10s powered by WetSounds SD2
1 12" JLw7 powered by JL MHD 750x1
6 JL 6.5" speakers powered by JL MHD 600x4
WetSounds EQ420
About 30 ft of WetSounds rgb leds
Translucent speakers grilles for the rev 10s
WetSounds music controller box
2 additional stinger batteries
And 20 sheets of hushmat aka dynamat to reduce cabin noise and vibration

Nice work! Interesting location for the 420. It seems like it would be less user friendly since you have to bend over to adjust the sound volume. I wish Nautiuque would make it easier to put into the dash on the left of the driver in that big empty space.

I did not do the stereo myself, the guys over at Action Water Sports of AZ did it all.
That was you Brandon?! I thought that kid riding looked familiar! Congrats on the new boat! Funny story, I rode that boat back when it had 20 hours with the previous owner, and ended up getting on of the worst concussions with a front nose edge catch behind it.

It's very true the G doesn't leave you many options for eq placement, but I'm really happy where it is. It's not completely exposed to the elements, and when you throttle down your hand is right there to crank her up. Same thing when throttling back and turning it down.

So...maybe you left behind bad mojo? On Sunday I was riding (2nd time out since we picked it up) and went to do a HS FS 180 - apparently I popped super high and had the trick no problem (don't remember but guys on the boat said it was super big air), but when I landed I caught the front nose and was knocked out, face down. Concussion for me too. :-(

Sick install!! Thanks for all the pics going to do something similar to mine! Just one question. Any reason you didn't do two pair of rev 10s? Thats what I'm planning on doing and haven't seen many other with two pair and was wondering if there is any reason behind it besides personal preference.

Origanlly I didn't want 2 pairs because it was over kill, cost, and head room. But this year I came to my senses, and threw all logic out the boat.

I am running the 2 pairs off the SD2 in parallel; 1250 watts. So that's 325 watts per speaker.

I have a very similar equipment set up minus the added pair of rev 10s and am about to upgrade to 12” sub from stock tube. Are you happy with 12” performance especially with the rest of the stereo upgrades? Where did you get vents?

I am very happy with it's performance, and it goes great with the rest of the stereo. The box that was built for it was just as important as the sub. I have a friend with 2 w7 12s who built a sealed and ported box (both the same small size) and his combined don't sound as good as my one. The vents are from Roswell and were black, painted white.

I think a lot of audiophiles would consider that a major faux paus. Ported boxes are supposed to be much bigger, the specs usually call for a ported box to be sometimes twice the size of a sealed box. And I would not mix and match a ported and sealed together. You are right on about the box being important, and that is why your friend's subs with twice the capacity don't sound as good.

When ordering the Rev 10’s for a G what Mount is everyone using?

There's an adapter bracket that WetSounds sells, its called nautique/fc5/U and uses all three mounting holes per wetsounds tower speaker. Note this bracket will not work on the 17 and newer towers. Email or call WetSounds and give them that part number as you have to buy direct. $160 for a pair i think, theyre rock solid but will not swivel. Also the board racks will swivel in, but not with boards in it.. actually they can swivel in, but only.if you have a wakeboard on the bottom rack with bindings facing down, you'll have about an inch to spare. This is on the old racks btw, I'm not sure about the newer triton racks.
