    Replacing tower speakers

So I have a 2009 210 with 4 bullet 770 speakers, the cones are cracking and just worn out. Bullet wants 470 per pair to replace. Is there another route to go or can I replace with another 7.7 inch speaker?
    Was thinking JL Audio M770-TCX
    Thanks

If you are wanting to stick with an HLCD, there are few options for just raw drivers. If you are wanting to go with a traditional coax, then you have a couple options. The JL is one, as well as the Kicker KM8. Just not, its got a slightly larger OD then the JL.

What's benefit of staying with HLCD vs coax?Pretty much a stereo novice here.. Boat was loaded when purchased so was pretty lucky.
      Thanks for help

Also given that we surf more then wakeboard are we better going with a coax?

If your primary focus is wake range projection, then stick with HLCD. But for surfing, a coax is going be smoother and offer better sound quality than an HLCD, you just lose that narrow cone of wake range projection.

So would he JL be a good compromise of both? They are listed as both coax and HLCD so a bit confused
            Thanks again for help

The Jl is 100% through and through, a traditional coaxial............soft dome tweeter to boot. Not sure about that description. Is that on JL's site or somewhere else?

If you want the best of both worlds, I would suggest a single pair of Wet Sounds Rev-10.

Thanks what about replacing with two rev 410? Or would I be better do individual speakers?

A pair of Rev-410 is is the absolute best in terms of sound quality and wake range projection. A little less peak output than 2 pair of Rev-10, but much more balance between the highs and mid-bass. You can literally feel the mid-bass hit you in the chest. from a pair of Rev-410.
