    • 2003 Super Air Nautique Team Edition

Ordered the aluminum COSMOS one. Looking at the pics the suction cups appear to be deeper than the plastic HOD I originally used. It's funny the best seller items on Amazon going with the handles are cutting boards and black hard plastic sheets. People must be making a ton of these things lol. Sucks for Mission but dang the price tag is just too much. I would have paid $200-250 for the mission one without hesitation but for <$30 to make my own definitely not paying $500. Will make sure this one has the tether AND flotation lol. Can't trust your buddies all the time.

The cosmos is significantly stronger than the plastic HOD in everyway. Buy the cosmos, not the HOD

Installed on my 2009 210. Used all weekend and was rock solid. I would add the relief holes as water shoots out when you install them.

            Wakeboyd,

How are u weighting your boat for surfing? My ghetto looks almost identical to yours and it does improve my surf wave, but the wave still has very little push and I can't let go of the rope. I just can't seem to figure out how to weight the boat to get a great wave with a lot of push.

I have been using full factory ballast (Port, Starboard and Center) and a full tank of gas. I can't say it is optimized because I haven't played with it. But it does work for us.

On my 08 210 I am running full ballast in hard tanks plus additional 300# in each rear locker. Have not added weight to bow other than 250# of human weight. Full tank of gas.
The best wave produced was last night for the left foot forward surfer (port side) was when I had ghetto gate about half out of water and flush with transom on starboard side.
If your wave lacks push add weight to rear and then adjust the length with weight starting int he pass through up to the bow.

EveningShade your board maybe the issue. I would also encourage you to try placing the ghetto gate in different places as it effects the wave height from what I am learning and the direction in which the wave diverges into the other wave which creates the push you are looking for.

It rained last weekend here in Seattle so I took a break on my super sport resto build and made up a "suck gate". Thanks to everyone that gave input and a especial shout out to nr2041! I hope to get out and test it out this weekend. I ordered up a kayak paddle tether which should be in tomorrow, total fab cost $37!

Got my Cosmo handle in yesterday. That thing is way stronger than the plastic HOD. Put it on the tall end cabinet in the house and I can hang on it. I can barely get it loose after releasing the suction. Should be the ticket. Going to knock out another tonight and test this weekend.

Yep, I forgot the cosmos on the side one time and got up over 20 mph. Throws a **** of a rooster trail btw... didn't budge...

Here's our wake results with the wakeshaper. We have a 2002 SANTE, we only used the rear tanks and 4 adults and was going about 9.2 mph. We were very happy with the results.

thanks to everyone for all the shout outs, the ghetto gate like mine that everyone is using for the og 210 works really well! seeing all these positive results is awesome! I have no doubts it will work well on other hulls, just needs some modifications to the angle and possible reverse mount applications for the same results, I would work on these for everyone, but I don't ready access to these hulls for measurements and fitment, good luck to everyone who would like to save some dollars and make one for their boat!

Anyone have good results with this on their direct drive, especially 2000-2003ish airs/sports. I've weighted my 2000 all kind of ways with not good results. The best I could do put the rider real close to the platform.
