This version I'm looking for function, I can pretty it up later. Just used a few nuts/bolts I had on hand it was either really long or too short lol. There are plenty of these in use already, with some success (and faliure), but I feel with as many ppl are collectively toying with the design it's really a couple weeks before there is a tried and true design.

for this version I used this handle
            http://www.amazon.com/COSMOS-Aluminu.../dp/B007VL3CB0

have not had a chance to test it yet, it should not be hard to put on in the water though, there are several different ways people have mounted the plate to the handle, but this way imo will keep the water pressure from pulling up the release levers, I'll post some updates when I can get it water tested

8" tapering to 6" x 9.5" I used .5" hdpe from cutting board, the gate size may change after testing, but seemed like a good starting point

nr2041, for reference I mounted mine in the same place with the same suction cups with a 12"wide x 18" long gate banked at 30 degrees and the wave is awesome but it falls off about 25% of the time. Gonna be trimming it this weekend and making it smaller. Let me know how the 90 degree angle works for you.

got to test out the gate today, factory ballast on 03 sante plus five people, wave was super clean, pocket long enough to ride at end of surf rope and come back to boat, wave was not as big as previous setup, but previous setup was 800 lb sack in floor, two 350 lb sacks in port seats plus factory, so I am very happy and satisfied with the gate currently, I didn't get any pics today but will tomorrow, btw it did not fall off one time

This seems a lot better than the bulky plywood that will only work on one side. Were you about to make that from one cutting board?
                          Whered you get it?
also if that made the port side good I bet the starboard side wake is awesome. While you're posting pics can you show a little more about where you drilled the holes in the suction handle? Thanks!

Hey NR, any issue with it falling off? I tried the 8 buck HoD several times today. Works great when it stays on the boat, just need more reliability. Thinking of trying this one unless the aluminum one works well...
