02 SAN Clarion Head Unit Question

Hey,

Bought my 02 SAN and none of the audio works including the head unit. I wanted to replace it with the same one or maybe same brand upgraded version.

Do they still sell this model?

Is the current model the same size head unit?

Is there a different head unit that is better but will fit?

Any links to things you have would be appreciated!

An 02 would have likely had a clarion XMD series. Long retired and for good reason. Head-units have come such a long way since then. Come so far that CDs are gone and USB integration is old news. Blue tooth is the thing and your smart phone can be a wireless remote.

So, dont look back and pick out a new head unit that has the features that you want. They all still have the standard 2 x 7 cut out, but you will likely need a custom trip plate to cover the exposed mounting screws once the old unit is removed.

Kicker, Clarion, Fusion, Polk and Rockford Fosgate all have marine source units in one form or another.
