Removing the backrest won't give me a much better view. In the picture, the small white things poking out of the fiberglass are the inserts holding the backrest from the bow in place. I am pretty sure that removing the backrest will only get me a better view of the back side of the keypad, screen, steering wheel and sloped area where the driver's feet generally rest. I reached down in there, and there is nothing underneath that sloped area, unless it is way down close to the floor. I could just feel straight fiberglass there.

Where I drew the imaginary speaker above is essentially the exact location that the speaker is on the other side. If anyone had a picture of that second sub for the starboard side, it would make me happy as a clam.

Does the second sub fire forward towards the bow?

FWIW, here is what the shell of my 2015 looked like. I think the 16 likely looks identical, except for the bottom hull tweaks. Click image for larger version

I have a 16 with the studio M sound system. The sub is mounted all the way to the right of where you have the red circle.

Thank you! I will peek my head in there again and see if the base system does come with a drilled hole, but I don't think so. I will especially look all the way toward the hull.

I think I can get a rotozip in there through the seat back, and it has a circle cutting attachment that will make it a job that is doable.

            Thank you Texoma.

The hole is definitely not predrilled. I am not looking forward to jamming my head in there, but with a respirator, the right power tool and a good strong arm, anything is possible. Here is what mine looks like right now.
