Turn off tower speakers.

I recently purchased a 2014 210 and would like to be able to turn off the tower speakers at times and just listen to the inside speakers. What is the best/easiest way to do this? They run off of one of the amps so I suppose I could just unplug the outputs for them at the amp but is there another way?

If you add the Wetsounds EQ it separates the volume so u can adjust independtly

The new Wet Sounds WS-220 zone control would be an excellent way to do this. Another great way is the the Kicker ZXM-RLC marine dual zone controller. Both these options allow you to control both the tower and in-boat zones independent of each other. On a boat with tower speakers, its real user friendly to also be able to dial down the in-boats and crank the tower speakers for your rider in tow. I like these two options a little better than using multiple line level POTs. They are good for one zone, like a woofer, but for mutliple zones, the active zone controllers a best because they have a line level driver as part of them.

+2 for the Wetsounds 420 EQ. In addition to sound levels for boat and tower, the equalizers for both is also outstanding. Can also adjust sub. We connected a blue tooth to the Aux input. I rarely use my head unit any more.

I believe adjusting the fader will do what you want. In a car it controls front & back speakers in your Nautique I'm pretty sure it controls the tower & interior speakers.

the simple and cheapest way is to put a toggle switch inline with the amp that powers the tower speakers,, have done this with all my boats , locate toggle close by the driver so he can cut off instantly when needed.

That's what I do on mine. Front only will eliminate the tower.

Yes. If needed, reconfigure the amps to have the tower speakers on one of the channels and use the fader to adjust.

I did this also and mounted the switch just below the dash pod. It's super easy and something I use frequently.

Thanks for the input. Looks like a toggle for the amp is the best solution for me. Or is there a way to manually turn off the breaker? As in use that for the switch? Looks to me that they are resettable only if they trip and not capable of manually turning them off.

this. run your tower speaker amp excite wire to a toggle switch on the dash and flip it on/off as needed. i use this all the time as i really only use the tower speakers when surfing/boarding.

I run a Kicker ZXM-RLC in my boat. Little more expensive than a toggle, but less than wetsounds. Works great for my application it comes with 2 controller knobs; mounted them both right next to the driver one controls the 4 tower speakers, the other controls the 4 cabin speakers. Difference between it and the toggle is that it gives you more control than just on vs. off. I can run my tower at 0 or 100% or any amount in between and same for the cabin. IE usually for wakeboarding we have tower @ 100% cabin at about 50%. Other times we'll have the tower @ 30% just for more volume and the cabin @ max because those speakers sound better close up honestly. If you're just looking for no sound on/off to roll past your neighbors quietly a toggle is perfect. If you're looking for control check out that kicker system, and if you need even more control look into the wetsounds.

After having some time to play around with my boat audio system further, you're right the fader does eliminate the tower speakers which is all i originally wanted. But the more i think about the Kicker ZXM-RLC that really makes the best sense, because i'm hoping i could set it up so i can use the fader for its intended purpose front to back and have seperate volume control for the tower speakers. I've already noticed if i'm cruising the lake with the stereo at what i consider comfortable volume, my kids sitting in the bow are griping that it is too loud. So, i need more flexibility to the system. I love Nautiques and i hate to bitch but seems like they could have done better considering close to a $100,000 boat...

and i have a super annoying buzz in the speakers with the motor running that i will research elsewhere in the forum. i know i saw a post earlier about that.

Previous owner of my boat wired the remote for the tower cabin speakers and sub amp to the shower button on the dash. I doesn't have the shower installed. I assume so he could blast tunes while surfing or quickly mute the cabin sound to take a call I don't know which. I started to rewire it where they all came on at once like normal but kind of like being able to "mute" the sound to speakers when a rider falls and we return to pick them up. That might be an option for you that doesn't require installing a new switch.
