Questions about Adding tower speakers and additional amp.

I just purchased a pair of rev 10's and amp to drive them and a WS-420SQ. I have a 2005 216 team edition with the clarion amp and polk sub. I'm planning on just using the EQ to isolate the factory system from the tower speakers. From what I can gather the connections go as follows.

    head unit to EQ
EQ to in boat speaker amp
    EQ to tower speaker amp
    EQ to sub amp

If I just leave the sub and boat speakers connected as is I would only have EQ to tower and EQ to boat speakers (including the sub) leaving one output channel open.

Does anyone see a problem with that?

Should I grab one more amp and isolate the boat speakers, sub, and tower speakers.

Also I believe the bow speakers are powered directly off the HU, should I get those powered through the amp that's driving the other boat speakers.

    Thanks all

    Mr,

No problem with it, but you really should take advantage of the EQ's 3 zone volume capability. This can be done with your current setup. However, IF the bow speakers are indeed on the head unit, they will need to be rewired to two amp chnls in order for them to also be controlled by the WS-420.

My gut says you have a 4 chnl clarion amp. the sub takes up 2 chnls and the 4 main cabin speakers take up the other 2. This leaves the bow pair on the head unit. You will need another amp to make this the most ideal. In these cases, we use a very small and mild amp for the sub, allowing the bow speaker to be relocated to the clarion 4 chnl.

Its a little more of an investment, but you will get that back 10 fold once you get the WS-420 hooked up.
