If you are using the RCA 'Y's and have the amplifier input switch set to 4-channel then you should be good.
2 volts is definitely adequate in order to get full power from your amplifier. A quality and properly set-up line driver may lower the noise floor, may increase the dynamic contrast, but will not impact the maximum volume level.
Also, make sure you are bridging across the correct channels. So that channels 1 & 2 are both left and channels 3 & 4 are both right. So that the input correctly corresponds to the output.
