You would not have known these were an HLCD unless you knelt down and looked under the gunwale. Tons of output but not ear piercing aggressive like the old pro series. However, they were still very strong, so no problem getting up over engine, wind and water noise to a typical tower application. No question these are of the Rev family. Id have no hesitations driving these with an amp in the 300W rms range for a tower setup.

Thanks. Looks like I'll be swapping out the Focals for a couple of these this winter.

I'm on that same fence. Plus I have a feeling wetsounds will be rereleasing their tower speakers with built in LED's like the new Revo inboat speakers so I don't want to pull the trigger too soon.

Aw man. This is crazy. I can't believe no one on this forum or MLA haven't heard them on a tower yet. I know MLA heard them, but that was in a different application. Not on a tower. David could chime in any time too. Anyone? Beuller?

Well, since that october post, I have heard the new Wet Sounds Revo 6x9 in a tower setup. Swapped out the 4 roswell 6.5" HLCDs and installed 2 pair of the Revo 6x9 in the roswell pods. Powered by a Syn-DX2. Cose your eyes and it was like listening to Rev-8's.

In my install the speaker surround is touching bezel and I am worried that surround will wear through after use. Wondering how you got around this? Also the two tabs on the lower half of the housing, did you cut these off to get everything to fit?
I hate to bump a 5 year old thread, but I would love to hear some feedback on the performance of the replacement 6x9 revs as well as install tips also.
Nearly a direct swap, little modifications.
