Time to let the boom out!

I had a buddy of mine fabricate a speaker vent for the passenger side of the boat. With my last boat, I had a 12 inch JL W2, and was not sure it helped much to have the trash can door open or not, so I never got around to putting a vent in. But I can tell a difference for some reason with the free air sub that is in there.

I think the grills came out very nice and will fit perfectly on the wall beneath the passenger seat to let some of the bass escape that compartment. He painted one for me and said also if a person wants just plain chrome/finish he can clean it up a little more than what is shown on the non-painted one here. This will be one of my winter projects. He will have them on Ebay soon.

I don't make any money from this, just figured I would let guys know there is a vendor that makes something that will look nice on our boat.

That's very nice.
I would rather have a vent half the size but within the cockpit deck and low to the sole than a vent twice the size in the pass-thru and positioned higher. So I'm not surprised this offers a better result.

I have not yet installed it. I am sure it will work since I even notice a difference with the trash can door open. As David said above, it can only get better being lower and more directly in front of the subwoofer. The size is about the same.

Awesome...gonna do a spring stereo project when boat is out of storage so it will be a few months but I will definitely be in touch!
