Ask goboating for sure, but it seems like the plate is aluminum. Again, for the cost its awesome. The Roswell vent is plastic and I worried in that high traffic, storage area it would break/crack in no time.

Starboard brand HDPE to be more specific. it would take one **** of a kick to break it. HDPE is used in many places all over boats. I have no fear of this grill breaking, but, would certainly look long and hard at this aluminum one on the next application.
Here is the link for the matte black mentioned above. Thanks for the feed back. I only made a limited about of these and will likely not make any more.
copy and paste the ebay number in the ebay search box: 182400857182
I've been getting request for these vents, if there is enough interest I will make another batch of these. Let me know how many of you want a good winter project.

Still love my vent...the only suggestion i may have is back the holes away from the vent opening a few more mm to be able to have a little more fiberglass between screw and hole for strength.
I have a new universal vent of a wake surfer. I did make the hole a litter further in as suggested.Check this universal vent out on Ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/183023816677
