So I have a clarion xmd1 in the glove compartment t with the remote wired to the left of the steering wheel on the console so I can control it. It is rigged to use an aux cable but this weekend my cable started to fail. I can't just plug another one in because there's a ton of soldering and there's no easy fix. Does anyone know of a decent media player headunit that has Bluetooth and I can use it from the driver seat with a remote. The cheapest option now seems to be replace with cheapo headunit and run wetsounds Bluetooth knob to the dash. But I'll be left with a nom functional remote on my dash from the clarion. Anyone have a better idea that wouldn't involve leaving a non working remote?
