Basically, when I'd choose the Surf preset, the system would throw fault codes on up to all three ballast pumps. Each time we turned the ballast pumps on and off, I had to go into the settings and clear the fault codes once or twice to get the pumps to work.

In addition to the speaker "pop" issue, I also have an issue with the speakers making a hissing noise that can be clearly heard at low volumes. Apparently the software fix addresses both speaker issues and the ballast pump short fault codes.

I also kept getting engine knock sensor faults. I believe they planned to replace the knock sensors to fix this?

The dealer, Hall Marine in Greenville, SC, has been totally on the ball with working to address the issues, so I'm thankful to have a good dealer working on them. I'll update once the repairs are complete and we have a chance to test everything out. Hope they get you back surfing asap!
I have a new 17 G on order, very interested to hear about your issues and what is being done to resolve them.....Thanks for all the info.

Unfortunately not fixed yet, but our dealer is really working hard on the issues. Here is the note I sent them:

        - ballast short fault codes fixed!

        - knock sensor issue still there. Happens when we surf using our preset. Doesn't happen when just cruising around or pulling my son wakeboarding with no ballast. Pic attached.

        - stereo popping on startup still present. Not quite as bad. Followed instructions for powering down. Seems like the longer it sits with engine off, the louder the pop? I used auto volume with 0 on the low end and 20 max because 33 you had it on was too loud for us. Bluetooth on my iphone 7 wide open.

        - hissing noise from speakers still present. Bluetooth with zero volume has a lot of white noise. Folks in the Nautique forums say this is common on Gs and typically a stereo grounding issue?

        - new issue. Stereo input switches between Bluetooth and AM radio back and forth without any change requested from me. Did it all weekend. Here's a video where you can see it going back and forth in the top right of the screen.

Last I heard from dealer, they were thinking of replacing the head unit to deal with the stereo pop on startup, the hissing and the switching between Bluetooth and AM radio randomly. They planed to reach out to Nautique today to get some guidance.

All except for the stereo input switching. Still a work in progress on that one.

That's discouraging you are still having issues heel5man, do you have a transom remote on your boat? I had one on my 15 and it would switch from Bluetooth-AM randomly till I figured out it was from people bumping the input on the transom remote when they sat next to it, mostly while surfing. Hope all your issues get resolved, taking delivery of my 17 in a couple weeks.

Thank you. The dealer has been persistent to work with us and Nautique corporately, so I'm confident they'll get to the bottom of it.

We do have a transom remote, but that isn't the cause of this issue. What's funny is that a lot of times it shows that the input is switching back and forth on the LINC display, but it's actually not because the music keeps streaming over Bluetooth.

I'm pretty sure the cause of the problem is the crappy head unit they use.

If they are using all JL why oh why have they not figured out how to use the JL headunit? I know its because of Linc compatibility, or at least I assume that, but come on?!?!

What about the other boat manufacturers that also use the same head unit, without any pop?

I'm curious if any other 2017 G owners are having the same issues as heel5man? Anyone?

run a wire from the ground on the amp to the head unit 1st then if the his continues check where the gain on the amp is set and turn it down
