    Speaker Wire Guage

What size speaker wire should i run? I have two kicker amps and 6 polk speakers. Should I be using 12 ga or 16 ga, twisted or not twisted? Thanks -MG

Bigger is not neccesary, as the loss in power due to smaller speaker wire (especially if you are talking the difference between 12 and 16 gauge) will be virtually undetectable by the human ear, unless you have extremely long runs, which wouldn't be the case in a boat. You'll be fine with either 14 to 16 gauge, as larger would just be overkill, unless you just like to spend the money and tell people you have larger speaker wires
