WS420 in a GS20

Well I finally pulled the trigger on a GS20. I want to add a Wetsounds WS420. Do I need to get the WS420BT or just the regular WS420 without Blue Tooth? I'm not sure if the 2017 Nautiques come with Blue Tooth from the factory or not.

Also, has anyone found a good location to mount the WS420 in a GS420?

I have no experience with seeing GS20 installs yet, but if it helps with your decision of which way to go, the bluetooth range on the WS420BT is essentially nonexistent, like to the passenger love seat max if you are lucky. Once I put mine into a mount under the dash the bluetooth was unusable.

Why do you want to add a 420? The factory radio is BT equipped. You can add a level control to the factor amps for under $20 each which will allow you to control level of tower speakers,sub, etc.

You make a good point. I probably don't need the WS420. I guess all I'm really after is zone control like you said. I'm open to suggestions on how to best accomplish this.

You should look into the Wet Sounds WS-220. Yes, it still has BT integrated, but its a 4 zone controller with master volume and no EQ like the WS-420SQ/BT. Can be flush mounted or surface mounted in their under dash mount.

For active zone control with line level driver, I really like the Kicker ZXM-RLC dual zone http://www.kicker.com/10ZXMRLC These can be surface or panel mounted.

For a passive zone control, I like the Rozwell dual zone knob https://roswellmarine.com/dualzonevo...rolfeature.php Also surface or panel mount.

It plugs directly into the JL amps that Nautique uses. I have upgraded my amps the the JL MHD series but I'm pretty sure it will work with all the M series amps.

I have a 420 sitting in the basement, and I haven't sold it yet, thinking I need to verify the zone control. Saw it in all the videos but did not really get a chance to play with all the features when at the dealer. I may ask to see it when I am up there clearing out my trade in.

When I view the video with Adam Wensick (sp) he points out that you can mute the zones or adjust volume from the Linc system. I don't have firsthand experience with it though.

Only if you order the studio elite stereo upgrade. Standard stereo only gives you fade and balance control.

Even if you have the studio elite package and can adjust volume zones through the Link Panoray, I personally like having a quick adjust "knob" to adjust the subwoofer, tower, and in boat volume levels quickly and easily, without needing to navigate to the correct screen. These levels generally need to be adjusted when I'm busy "driving."

I'm constantly adjusting tower volume, sub volume, etc. Volume levels change by song/artist, or my crew changes seats and wants different volume levels, etc. In short...it's just so nice to have a quick adjust knob for these.

Keep in mind this is must an opinion, and I addressed this with the WS420. I love having the EQ functionality as well...but it's overkill. The overhead microphone as well is a real plus for me, especially when teaching a newbie to surf or wakeboard behind my G23.

Is that the MX Premier....there is no option on a GS for Studio Elite.
