    Exile Dual Zone Control?

Has anyone used the Exile Dual Zone Controller - EXDZ and can share their experience? Will this work with a 2014 model Nautique that has the Linc 2.0? Thanks.

I have used Roswell's version (looks exactly the same) and it works great! Well worth the money to control zones independently and fast without needing to change linc screen....doesnt matter what version of linc you have because it just hooks into ur amps.

Did it add any noise/feedback to the system? Have heard it can add unwanted noise to the systems. Where did you mount your control and how did you run the RCAs?

The downside of the exile and the Roswell is that you have to have long runs of rca cables from passenger side to driver side. Kicker has a nice unit that stays near the head unit, and runs the controls to the driver side.

I have used quire a few of the Roswell dual zone controllers, which are the same units Works real well paired with their 6-chnl 5M RCA set. It gives you your input pair and your 2 pair of outputs. Outside of a defect, the unit itself should not create noise. its a passive unit that only varies the RCA signal to the amp. However, long RCA runs sometimes can allow noise in.

FYI, the Roswell retails for $35. and the 6-chnl 5m RCA for $49. All in its a little more than the other, but I am very satisfied by the RCA quality. 6 chnls in a very compact assembly. Works very well unless your head unit is far from the amp. At that point, I use a 4-chnl for the outputs and what ever length 2 chnl needed from the head unit for the inputs.

The passive controller divides the available voltage which can result in the need to increase the amplifier input sensitivity, and that can increase the noise floor. Long transverse to and from RCA runs can encourage noise, especially with a basic amplifier lacking a differential input. If the HU and the passive zone control are both on the driver's side, that's a better scenario for this type of device. Otherwise, I prefer the Kicker or JL Audio active level controls which include a high voltage line amp. The Kicker and JL Audio controls work in such a way that they do not extend the signal path.

I have a 2014 230 so the HU and amps are on the port side. Will that help my cause?

In that case if I needed dual zone controls at my fingertips, then I would go active (Kicker or JL Audio) rather than passive.

                  Or would the Wetsounds 220
Or 420 be a viable option as well? Local stereo guys will do a 420 for me. Just didn't know if it was overkill for me.

The Wet Sounds WS-220 offers you 4 zone control with master volume, so it certainly will do what you seek. It also has blue tooth. Although it can require long RCA runs, it has an adjustable line level amplifier. So no divided signal and voltage drop like with the passive dual controller. It also allows for adjusting the blue tooth sensitivity.

The WS-420 has 3 zone and master volume and a dual 4 bank EQ. Hard to call either of them overkill.

I can't speak on the others... I have the kicker system in my older 230, works perfectly for my application. If I remember right (boat is in AZ for winter) I have 3 knobs- one controls the amp for the tower speakers, one controls the cabin speakers, and one is a bass knob specific for the 5 channel that powers the sub. Basically right under the dash on my driver's seat I can easily adjust the 3 independently for under $100.

What is the best route to run the Roswell Zone Control from the head unit to the driver's side? Do you have to go around the bow or can you go under the floor?

Bump this thread. Cannyou go under the floor in a 230? I am considering the exile and kicker dual zone controls. I like the exile style better, but some say the long rca runs degrade sound quality. It also seems that the exile is limited by the current head unit volume position, while the kicker operates independent of the head unit, so you have full volume control. Am I correct and am I missing anything? On a 2015 factory system will I notice the difference either way?

I love the wetsounds also, but total overkill for my needs. Just want to control cabin and tower speakers with a knob.
