Adding transom remote. Advice/ pics needed please

I am adding the round Polk transom remote on my 2014 210 and also the rectangular dash remote on my dash. I am asking for people to please post photos showing placement of their transom remotes and dash remotes for similar years 210's. I have seen them mounted in the walk thru and also on the rear part of transom on port side. The dash ones i have seen just to the left of the steering wheel. I would like to decide what is the best location prior to cutting the holes. Thanks.

Measure 50x and drill a pilot hole with a tiny tiny bit before you go with the big 2" hole bit (drill in reverse with those big aggressive teeth).

i measured 20x and was still surprised where it came through.

Like the location cause if in the water you can still reach it as opposed to the walk though....just a thought!

As mentioned by Gunters, mounting it off to the side gives you access from the water . As much as they say remotes are waterproof , I always prefer to have them above or just below the rubrail.

That looks like a good location on transom. Now I need to decide where to mount the dash one.

We are doing this project now. We realized when we got this started that the stereo already has a y-cable coming out of it which connects to the dash screen and the glove box head unit. Where do I connect the y-cable we will need to use for the two remotes?

You should be able to hookup your new Y cable to one of the ports on the existing Y cable. It might depend your your stereo though.

That will not affect the performance?

I wouldn't imagine. There should be no "performance" it should work, or not work. Its just sending signals to the head unit.

Right, just there is data being transferred to the various displays, etc...
