I recall reading about a "switch" that allows you to inpendently control your tower speakers from the boat's speakers. Any one know what I'm talking about...?
If you have an amp that only powers tower speakers. You can add an Pac 1 RCA control between your head unit and your tower amp... it is just a little volume nob basically. It will allow you to control the tower speaker volume independently of the rest of your speakers.
I use an EQ, but i know many people use the pac-1 device and are very happy with it.
