Sorry, maybe a dumb question, but just to verify...can you use the Roswell dual zone knob to control a complete JL audio system? I have a 2017 230 with the full JL audio Elite package with four 7.7s on the tower, 10" subwoofer, etc. I love the idea of being able to manually turn down the interior and manually turn down the tower separately.

Also, how is everyone running the wires to the dash? Where do they connect on the existing sound system?

Can you still control the total volume from the Linc screen if you apply this manual control?

You will run an RCA cable from the head unit to the location of the knob. It is easiest to do it under the front seats. I put mine directly across through the front ballast, but that was way more work, and there really isn't going to be any detectable deterioration in a 20 foot cable compared to a 10. Then you run 2 RCA cables back to the amps. The control on the Linc is still going to be the master control. So for example, if you have the master Linc volume on 15 and turn the knob all the way up, you only get 15 volume. But if you put the master volume on 36 (which is what I often do), then you can have the volume anywhere between 0-36 by turning the knob, and separate the towers and interiors.

Depending on your amp configuration, you may have to split the RCA return cable between a sub and interior amp. A splitter is cheap and easy.

Yes, but only divided into two zones. You can pair sub and in-boats as one zone, and then have towers as the 2nd, or add in another control for the woofer and have all 3 zones.

I like the sub and interior speakers on one, then tower on another. Is that how it is setup as stock? So one amp supplies interior speakers and sub and the other is for tower speakers only? Then the knob wires to both amps?

I had a Wetsounds 420 on my previous boats, but realized I almost never varied the subwoofer volume, I just like it linked to the interior speakers. If I often found myself thinking, 'Hey, I would like to increase the bass on this song, or decrease it on another' then I would get a 420, or comparable unit from other marine audio companies. I just haven't found that occurring much recently, so I am happy with the simple knob. I do miss having a mic sometimes.

Unless I want and will use, independent sub level volume, I would prefer it to be tied to the in-boat speakers. Its more logical. Tower speaker project out the back of the boat, bass would be in the boat.

I'm pretty sure kporsch did most of my install for me. Since he's the resident stereo / engineer guru in the neighborhood...and my neighbor. If he can't fix it or doesn't have the tool to fix it, you're pretty much screwed.
