    Wetsounds/speaker wire on 2006 210 tower

    First an image for reference:

Bought my 2006 210 with a pair of REV10s already installed by previous owner and speaker wire run through the tower. The wire was run through the front port leg, through the front crossbar and then down each lateral flat support bar and comes out the pictured holes a few inches before the rear crossbar and through the small hole for an XLR connector on each REV10.

Now looking to add a REV410 in between the existing 10s but running into a few issues. I was able to fish new wire up the starboard front leg alongside the anchor light wiring (port side was too cramped with the existing wiring), and can see the access hole that was drilled between the front crossbar and the flat support in order for the wiring to reach the existing holes with grommets shown in the picture above. Was a similar hole drilled between the flat support and rear crossbar? The REV410 does not have a similar hole for an XLR connector and it appears to be that the speaker wiring must be run through the clamp directly into the rear cross tubing. I am going to try to use a vaccum to fish dental floss from the pictured holes above to the new hole for the 410 after drilling the initial hole, but would like to hear from someone if it is even possible, been having trouble even trying to get stiff electrical fishing line to go in through the existing hole and go "deep" enough to appear to be reaching the rear cross bar.

If anyone has installed 410s on this tower already or run wiring for their tower speakers through the clamps, are you just drilling additional holes to pass the wire externally from the rear cross bar to the flat support bars and then hiding the rest? Found this post:

But getting mixed results on where people are terminating their runs.

What might be easiest is remove the existing wire and redrill the existing holes large enough to handle the additional wires. Some better pics close up would help understand what you have, is there an access hole on that crossbar?

Got the install finished this weekend, figured I'd close the loop with some pics if anyone else needs this info down the road. First the final install:

As I suspected there was no access hole between the flat support bars and the rear round cross bar. In the picture below the wires for the REV410 run alongside the anchor light wires up the from leg on the left of the picture, then the speaker wires pass through an existing access hole between the left round cross bar and the flat support before existing out the rear grommet to the right alongside the driver side REV10 wires.

They then go from this existing grommet into a new hole I drilled into the rear round cross bar and then pass through a second hole I drilled into the clamp of the 410. The wires for the driver side REV10 still go through the rear access hole as the previous owner had setup, haven't decided yet if I am going to add a Neutrik still connector to clean it up or pass these wires through the rear cross bar as well like the 410. Still working on finding grommets that actually fit 1/2" holes for the tower correctly.

The port side REV10 remains the same just cleaned up with braided expandable wire sleeving. Again, the wires travel up the front leg of the tower on the port side, then pass from the front round crossbar directly into the flat support in the picture, but no matter no much I tried with floss and the vacuum and stiff fishing wire, seemed there is no access hole between that flat support and the rear round cross bar. Looks like I would have to do the same on this side as I did on the driver side for the 410 in order to get the wire to pass directly through the REV10 clamp into the tower.

Still don't understand why the tower came with access drilled between the front round bar and the flat bars, but not between the same flat bars and the rear round bar.

Why not put on the proper male/female pod connectors in those Rev-10 and close up those large holes.
