Any suggestions on the best connection method for six 8ohm single coile JL Audio Subs connected to one JL 500/1 amp?

you are not going to power 6 subs with a 500.1 properly. you will get better sound out of two subs with only one 500.1 amp. What model of subs are you using? If you put more power to less subs it wiil be louder than six subs with less power. my suggestion would be 2 amps for the three subs at a minimum. If you tell me what JL subs i can tell you what would sound best. Hope this help's

Well, given that it is a 500/1, you need to keep the impedence between 1.5 and 4 ohms to get the rated 500 watts of power. 6 - 8 ohm subs in parallel will drop it down to 1.33 ohms, which won't work, so you'll have to do some parallel and series wiring to get it within the acceptable range. Just running the math, there are only 2 ways that I can see you wiring the subs:

          1) run 2 pairs in parallel and the 3rd pair in series, then run them all together in parallel, which will give you a 1.78 ohm load
          2) run 1 pair in parallel and the other 2 pairs in series, then run them all together in parallel, which will give you a 2.67 ohm load

Unfortunately, this wiring approach will result in some of the subs getting a different amount of power than others, possibly resulting in some of the subs being underpowered. I would take the advice of some of the earlier comments and reduce the amount of subs, or increase the amount of amplifiers to achieve good quality bass.
