Stock Speaker Size on 95 SNCB

Quick question for any 90's owners. I have been installing a new stereo in my 95 closed bow. The boat originally came with a stereo and speakers but the stereo was ripped out at some time in the past. I decided to install a new stereo in the boat and everything went great until I tried to plug the new speaker wire into the existing speakers. When I tried to remove the original speaker connectors from the speakers, the entire wiring on the old speakers disentegrated.

My question is I'm not sure what the original speaker size was. I'm trying to find replacement speakers which will fit the same hole without having to increase the hold size at all. The original speakers were Poly Planar speakers. The initial measurements I took are below.
    - Outside Diameter of speakers: 6"
    - Diameter between speaker wholes: 5.5"
    - Speaker cutout: 4"
(I think all these measurements are correct.)

Anyone know what size speakers will fit into these holes? It seems like all the speakers are either too small or too large.

    Thanks for the help.

I just replaced all of my 94 SNCB speakers with the 6.5" polk db650 speakers from circuit city and they fit perfectly minus the fact that the holes didnt line up to the original. I don't know if they changed the size of the holes from 94 to 95. Heres the speakers -MG

i just put the db650s in my 92 SNCB. they fit perfectly in the holes that were there. i don't know if the boat had factory speakers and stereo, or if sombody just did a nice job of putting one in aftermaket.

I put 6.5" infinitys in my 1995 SN. Start with the one in the driver's footwell, it's the easiest since the panel comes out finish with the passenger's front, it's the hardest to get to.

The factory Clarion 6.5"s have a spacer ring so the surround does not hit the hole's trim ring. I glued old spark plug wires just inside the outside edge of the speakers to space them out a bit to keep the surrounds from hitting the holes then screwed them in from behind. If your material grills look bad just front load them, mine were in good shape so I kept it looking stock. It's a bit challenging getting them lined up then screwed in, cut a wedge out of a 2x4 to place between the speaker magnet and the boat hull for the tough install of the passenger front. Don't expect much bass if any from the rears. They are so close to edge the bass wave coming off the face just rolls around and cancels what's coming from behind. I planned to install some MTX baffles to help but I just installed a sub box behind driver's speaker instead (2 x 8").

        Have fun.
