    LED Cup Holder Install - 2016 G23

Our 2016 G23 came very nicely equipped, but strangely no LED cupholders. I wanted an accent color anyway, so no big deal. Details on the install follow....

The 2016 cup holder locations are pre-wired, with a wire for each (not including in front of the windshield in the bow). An AMP mate-n-lock connector is pre-installed from the factory. The matching connector on the cupholder side was used to make installation easy and avoid cutting the stock wires. Parts needed: QTY 14, SOCKET HOUSING 2 POSITION, 6.35MM, AMP PN 1-480699-0 and QTY 28, CONTACT, SOCKET, 24-18AWG AMP PN 350689-1.

We looked at a number of LED cup holders, and went with the offering from Nautique Parts: https://www.nautiqueparts.com/produc...tery-versions/ . Be sure to use the Planet Nautique discount code (PND) for 10% off your purchase at Nautique Parts.

The Nautique Parts cup holders were not too bright or too dark, are made of black plastic with o-rings and came with a rubber drink insert. They seemed to best match the stock LED cup holders. I went with red, which was a great choice. The red really pops and mixes well with the existing white courtesy lights. We ordered 14 red for the interior cabin, and 2 white for the upper bow area in front of the windshield - reasoning that I could run with the cupholders on and not be projecting red outside of the boat. I ended up deciding not to install the upper bow to help keep sight lines clear in the dark, for now.

Once everything arrived the connector sockets were crimped on the cup holder wiring and inserted into the plug housings. The NP cup holders come pre-stripped, which is nice, but need to be cut back slightly for the AMP connectors

With stock connectors installed, it is just matter of removing the factory stainless cup holders snapping the connectors together and pushing the new LED cup holders in place. A few of the stock cup holders were loose, a few were crazy tight and the majority came out without too much trouble. The JL speaker grills did need to be removed in the bow to fit the new cup holders in. Once installed you can put the grills back on without issue. Overall, only two wires were a hassle - the drivers area is too short to be convenient and has to be connected blind, and one near the starboard cabin speaker took a little hunting to find.

Once everything was installed the cup holders turned on from the LINC system with the courtesy lights.

If you make it easy on yourself and use the factory connectors, and you don't have any issues with finding wires, the installation is easy and quick. The most difficult part was probably removing the stock cup holders.

Eventually I may make a stock wiring splitter for the upper bow area cup holders, in case we want to try those out. Doing it all over, I would probably just order the inside 14.

The color is more red in person, and ignore the elbow impressions on the seats. : )

A little less than $400 all in. Connectors can be purchased from a variety of sources (Digi-Key, Mouser, Newark, eBay, Amazon, etc.) just search on the mfg part numbers in the original post. These part numbers are for the TE/AMP mate-n-lock part, which are also a little less expensive than the substitute molex part.

You can use the Planet Nautique discount code (PND) for 10% off your purchase of the cup holders at Nautique Parts. I bought a bunch of t-shirts and hats while I was at it.

apologies for the necrothread resurrection. Does anyone know if these are the same connectors in a 2017? we are going to add a few lighted cupholders to our GS20, but the boat is at the lake and won't have access till the weekend to look at the connectors.

Also, read in the other 2015 G21 thread that the dealer would have to activate the setting in the panoray, but I think, like you mentioned, they should come on with the courtesy lights, correct?
