Thought i'd do a little write up on the backings I did on my 230. The difference was like night and day..... no more flimsy plastic rattling around. Also, the mid-bass was much more tight and crisp.
Removed the covers. Roughed up the backs a bit...
Cut up some 1/2" MDF for speakers. I also wanted to reduce the possibility of rattle from the back so I placed some 3/8" pieces to there as well
I glassed up the pieces to make them waterproof. PL'd them to the covers. The extra block below was put so I can screw the passive crossovers in place...
Sprayed them with rubberized rocker paint...
Also caulked the access door for the tower wires....
