    Battery Drain-Stereo on-Key out

Just installed new head unit to our 06 210-the wires out of the unit are Yellow-batt, Red-Acc, Black-ground.
When the key is out the unit still works, the battery has drained also and I think this is because the unit is still drawing power. I know it needs power when off to keep the presets, but should I be able to play it when the key is out of the ignition?
I assume that it keeps minimal power when the boat is off, and should only work when the key is in the acc position or the boat running.
Any help on the wiring wouldbe greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    RE: Battery Drain-Stereo on-Key out

The yellow wire should stay hot all of the time. This battery maintains your presets and provides the main power to the unit.
The red wire should be wired to the ignition or whatever source you would like to turn the unit on. The unit will not turn on until this wire is hot.
    The black wire is ground.

    Hope this helps.

Its all fixed now..there was power running to the engine and accessories when the key was out of the ignition! Must have been a crossed wire when the boat was assembled.
It had nothing to do with the stereo.
