    Underwater lights installation

I got my G23 but didn't come with underwater lights. My question is if the boats come pre wired for their installation and if they just piggy back in to the switch for the navigation lights. Is it worth doing it my self? I am confident about the installation i just don't want to start trying to connect it if it doesn't come pre wired. Any comments will be appreciated.

    Thanks,

Yes, likely pre-wired to the transom. No, not tied to NAV lights, they should have their switch. Likely need to turn on the switch output in the dealer menu though. Very common as of late, for the manufacturer to have non chosen factory options disabled.

Yeah totally easy. just look up some of the youtube videos about how to drill into fiberglass and prevent cracking. always countersink holes, apply sealant to all holes drilled. i highly recommend 3M 4200, followed by the 4000. avoid the 3m 5000 marine sealant, you will never get them off if you need to.

if you want them wired to the nav lights just tie them into the closest one. most under lights are LEDs and draw very little amperage. should not be a problem for the stock breaker.

Look at the wiring diagrams on this site, existing wires should already be there... Just need to know the color so that when you hook them up the correct Linc switch turns them on. I would not recommend installing them on the nav light circuit... You want to have the ability to turn the underwaters off and keep the navs on... In many states running underwater is illegal
