    Stereo & Battery Modification ?'s

We are patiently awaiting our 206 Team to come in and I am intersesed in some resonable & effective stereo and battery upgrade options. The boat comes with the standard Team stereo package and we added the Deafcon III tower speakers.

    1. How good is this system and what kind of resonably priced upgrade modifications are recommended for the amp components??

    2. I would like to add a 2nd battery (Optima Bluetop), not sure of the best location and the best automatic relay device to seperate the 2 batteries.

The sub woofer will be reloceted to behind the driver side kickpanel to free up space under the observer seat (to store my barefoot boom).

    Any input is greatly appreciated!!!

    Thanks

RE: Stereo & Battery Modification ?

The best battery combiner is going to be a yandina C100 http://www.yandina.com/c100Info.htm . The single greatest electrical upgrade i have made.

As far as the tower speakers... you need to upgrade the amp from the beginning. It comes with a clarion 160 watt amp... way underpowered. Buy an Arc audio amp if you can spend the money... they are smaller and awesome amps! If you need to go cheaper buy a kicker.

The speakers are rated 80 watts rms at 4ohms per speaker x 2 per pod. I think they are wired in series to give a 2 ohm load since there is just (1) + & - from each pod. So i would run about 200 watts rms of clean power to each pod at 2 ohms. Maybe a kicker zx250.2 or an Arc KAR 400.2.

I have an 05 and over the winter i upgraded nearly everything, tower speakers, tower amp, sub, sub amp, and rewire the 4 channel clarion... it just depends on how mich money and time you want to spend.

        Also... i just noticed i said kciker 250.2 and i meant 450.2.
