Clarion Issues on a 99 Pro Air

My stereo will not turn on. I believe mine is the Clarion that came with the boat from the factory, a 1999 Pro Air. I just got the boat and the previous owner said it hasn't worked in a while. I did notice the other night that the backlight comes on on the display, so it is getting power. Is there anything you guys recommend I check before just replacing this unit?

Sometimes the connection is not very good. Remove and install the face plate of the stereo a few times and that usually does the trick for me. I also need to replace the stock unit.

Thanks for the input. I've tried that numerous times. I guess its time to replace it.

Before you scrap out your old head unit, you might be able to find a used face plate on e-bay or something. Or it might just be better to replace it with a new unit. Probably less headache in the long run.

Yea, I think I'm just gonna start over. I plan on amp'ing my speakers and would rather have something with 2 sets of RCA pre-outs as well as a subwoofer out and aux-in.

I yanked the old Clarion out and put in a new Sony headunit. Everything works great. Now I've gotta replace the speakers with some Polks and amp them up!
