    Polk amplifier setup

    What are the proper settings for a polk amplifier to be used to power for Tower speakers the amp is a 500.4 Channel

    Like the amplifier settings? gain, cross overs, etc?

    cross over should be set to high pass, 80hz or so, possibly lower if you have REV10s or something.

    gain can be set a bunch of ways, youtube has plenty of examples. if you wanna do it right, multimeter and test tones with head unit set to defeat.

          test tone on CD or phone, 100 hz most likely, defeat ON the headunit, measure the AC voltage at speaker terminals with speakers DISCONNECTED. look up factory amp manual, tune per resistance of the speakers (2, 4, etc), find matching impedance on factory manual, tune to that target AC. install speaker wires again, turn down slightly to achieve optimal system balance.

          if you don't understand what you are doing, it can be daunting. if you watch a few youtube videos, you'll wonder why you haven't done this for every boat you have ever owned.
