    Amp Install question

I hope you guys can help me out, this should be simple. I was installing in amp in my 88 SN 2001 on Sunday and I think I might have screwed it up. I connected the amp ground to the negative terminal on the battery instead of an engine mount. When I went to connect the power cable it sparked once and that was it. I can't get the amp to turn on so I am worried I fried it. I ran the remote start to the same breaker that the stereo is on. How do I tell if the Amp was bad when I got it, if I have it wired wrong or if fried the amp? What is the proper way to wire it up?

    RE: Amp Install question

You probably just blew a fuse. I had the same thing happen once before when I was hooking my battery back up after winter. Ended up just being a fuse. Check that first.

That is what I am hoping, but I had an in-line 20Amp fuse on the power cable that is not blown and my Amp was a free used Jensen amp without any visible fuse. Do I need to take the cover off the amp?
