Xmd1 wired remote adapter

Anyone uses the 6 to 8 pin wired remote adapter for upgrading their Clarion radio? I have the xmd1 with a wired remote (no lcd) and want to upgrade to a cmd8. I just want to be able to control volume, skip songs, and source if possible. Thanks

I installed this adaptor when upgrading to the clarion m606 with good results , allows skipping tracks source and volume control . My remote has the display which no longer works but I already knew this would be the case .

just recently used to connect Clarion wireless remote to CMD-5, MF-1, Y-cable and 8 to 6 pin adapter, all worked well.
