    FM Antenna

What's the secret to getting good FM reception? My preference is a hidden type antenna. I bought an antenna from Best buy to lay under the front seats....a minor improvement but not good enough. I have Googled multiple antenna but have found nothing with consistent reviews.

Well, this is not really a problem that can be solved easily. The only way to get good FM reception is with an antenna sticking up perpendicular to the boat. But that's ugly. So most people end up trying to hide it somewhere which severely limits its ability to pull in a good signal. If the transmitting antenna is close by this can work, but outside of that you're out of luck.

I gave up on this years ago and just went with satellite radio.

Giving up is your best answer. Who uses fm now a days anyway?

I added a hidden powered antenna to my boat it is slightly better than just the wire but not worth the effort...and it was little effort.

Thanks for the advice....we usually go the Pandora route but have several locations without a signal. My buddy's MC tends to get good FM reception, will have check out his setup.

Based on the Antenna problem, I found out that my 2018 230 the Factory hooks the antenna wire to screw on the rub rail , there for the whole rub rail becomes the antenna. I would take out the screw and replace it with a Stainless machine screw with a lock nut and try that.

Ok...does you 2018 get good FM reception then? Sounds like a reasonable fix.
