Replacement for a clarion xmd1 and wired remote

Has anyone found a modern replacement for a clarion XMD1 and wired remote for a ski nautique 2003. The remote would leave a 60mm hole and I’d like to find something that would fit and that also has Bluetooth.

    Many thanks

    Dan

The Clarion M508 with a custom trim plate is a great option and the M608 is even better as it has a similar over sized face to the XMD.

Your remote options are the round MW1 or rectangle MW4.

or go with the compact GR10BT in place of the remote and put a cover plate over the hole for the xmd. Or one of the black-box units like the CMS20 or CMS5.

Look into the Fusion RA-70Ni and RX300 remote.

      I installed a MR1 using a CCUMRA2 8 to 6 pin harness, yes it works, like a 100' range

I replaced mine with the CMD-8 and got the remote adapter as mentioned by KCOBEN so my remote will still function with the new radio. The only drawback is no blue tooth with the CMD-8 but I picked it up for a reasonable price used and it has a USB hook-up so I just load music onto that and play from there.

So I don't know much when it comes to stereo or receivers or any of the sound electronics installation really. I like the idea of having the M608 for the people behind me in the drivers seat to be able to control volume and what they want to listen to. I also like the look of the GR10BT to replace the existing ugly remote. are these two systems compatible and will they work with each other?

Neither is compatible with anything in a boat from 2001.

Yhe M608 and the GR10BT are both independent media units. They are not a master unit and slave remote.

MLA, I'm curious as to why you don't think either would work? I'm really just interested, not trying to be complacent. I'm ignorant to all this stuff and want to make sure something will work before I buy and end up having trouble with an install.

In terms of communication protocol, the M608 is at least 2 generations newer then your existing wired remote(s). So the M608 would require new generation wire remotes.

The M608 and GR10BT are both a stand alone media unit. They are not designed to work together. There is no means of communication as you would get between the M608 and the MW1 wired remote. The GR10BT does not support wired remotes.
