Has anyone been able to get it to work with a Hero6? I wonder if it is only comparable with an older camera?

Darren I think this may be the problem... I am also trying to link a hero 6 with no luck at all. Wish we could get a solution from Nautique.

I'm going to try my Hero 4 this weekend and see if I have any success.

Here are some instructions that Nautique Engineering sent my dealer this week. I plan to try them out soon, but wanted to pass them along in case they might help others in the meantime.

“In my experience, making a GoPro connection to your phone and then to the boat can be tricky and certain steps must be taken if you are not successful the first time.

Here are the steps I take before connecting the GoPro to the boat:

Download GoPro app to your (or the customer’s) phone
Follow the GoPro app instructions for connecting a new gopro
Once the GoPro is connected via Wifi and Bluetooth, test it by making sure you can control the GoPro through your phone and stream video to your phone. This part is tricky because the GoPro camera has both types of wireless connection and both are used when you pair the camera to your phone.
If you are unsuccessful connecting the GoPro to your phone, you must rectify this before attempting to connect to the LINC Panoray. Before re-trying a connection between the GoPro and your phone,
You must go into your phone’s Bluetooth menu and “forget” the GoPro.
Then you must go into your phone’s Wifi menu and “forget” the GoPro wifi connection too.
Then you must go into the GoPro app and delete the GoPro.
Sometimes you also have to go into the GoPro camera’s settings and “reset WiFi”
Once all three or four connections are forgotten/deleted/reset, then you can attempt to connect the GoPro to your phone again.

Once you establish a functional connection between the GoPro and your phone, you do not need your phone anymore, however, you must disconnect your phone’s WiFi from the GoPro before proceeding to the next set of steps.

Here are the steps to connect the GoPro to LINC Panoray:

On your phone, go to the WiFi settings and disconnect your phone’s Wifi from the GoPro if it’s still connected.
On the GoPro, make sure Wifi is still turned ON
On the GoPro, navigate to the menu which displays the camera Name and Password – remember or write them down. You will not need to do anything further with the GoPro for the connection process. Do not start a pairing or connecting request via the GoPro’s built-in menus.
On the LINC Panoray GoPro page, go to NEW GOPRO CAMERA and scan for new GoPro cameras.
Select your GoPro and enter the password when prompted.
Wait up to 30 seconds for the Connection status to change to “CONNECTED”.
On the Control tab of the GoPro page, tap the preview graphic to start the preview and proceed with using the system.

Much of this is what I’ve learned since the last we spoke. If going through the lengthy reset everything procedure doesn’t work, there may be a new GoPro software version that is messing things up. If that’s the case, send me the info about the camera including the version which appears for a few seconds whenever the camera boots up.”

Tried my Hero 4 this weekend. Connected and recorded without any issues. I did not try to reconnect again. Hopefully next time is just as easy.

Do you have to own an '18 to have this option on your linc screen?

It was an option that could be ordered starting with YM 2018 boats.

From all of my experimentation the HERO 4 is the only camera that reliably works with LINC. The Hero 5 connects and works great...once. But power the camera or boat off and it will not reconnect unless you completely delete the connection and start over. Then all has to be repeated if you power off the boat or camera again so it is useless. HERO 6 does not work at all.

Is there any sort of rca input under the dash? Even though they don’t advertise it there might be a chance... maybe?

Even if you could configure a remote RCA connection, it would not be high definition and would not control the camera thus it would be pretty useless unless you just want to watch low resolution video...

Hello everyone, I just purchased a 2018 GS20 and loving it! Unfortunately the only thing we cannot get working is the GoPro feature on the dash. Huge disappointment, cannot get either the Hero 6 or a Hero 3 to connect... I have read all the comments, including the instructions from the engineer, cannot believe the latest GoPro's does not work on the system. How is that possible?? The GoPro feature was a great selling feature for me considering I am pulling kids all the time and it is tough to drive and work a camera at the same time! Now that it is end of August, anyone hear about any updates that allow the newer cameras to work??
