    adding underwater lights

is it possible to add underwater docking lights to a boat that did not come with them from the factory? If so, how challenging? what all is involved? I am looking at a new GS20 and it does not have them. They are an option I have always wanted

    thanks

Not an impossible job, just need to take a few precautions when mounting underwater hardware. Most boats offer it as an option, so if you locate the factory harness, you may be able to utilize that, depending on the lights you go with. However, the output may be deactivated in your LINK and would need to be activated through the dealer menu.

Proper placement of the light for wire access and best light effect, proper underwater sealer, drilling and hole prep, etc.

      thanks again for the info.

I would be using the Nautique factory lights. Are these a plug and play option? Dealer activation in Link should be easy. I may just have the dealer do it all

I had the dealer install them on my GS22 over the winter. They look like they came from the factory.

not plug and play, more like crimp positive and negative leads and then play. at least my 2010 230 just had crimps on the end of the factory underwater harness that i replaced with water proof heat shrinks. its near the harness for the blower.

Also interested in this thread. I just purchased a '17 GS20 and am interested in adding the lights. Also, how's the output on the factory lights? I was looking at the Roswell lights as an option. https://www.roswellmarine.com/product/nightwave/.

Millerda68 I am not sure if you are looking for docking lights or rear lights. If rear see below.
Several posts on here but one I think is the best:

The short story sounded to me is that the Liquid Lumens were the best.
