Replacement speaker help for my 2001 Nautique

Looking to replace my original speakers in my boat. Looking for suggestions on how I replace them as well as any suggestions on what to replace them with

Has anybody moved up to 6 1/2” speakers? I know it’ll require opening up the speaker holes but I’m thinking larger speakers with be better sound and power handling

Yes on the 6.5".

I dropped in a set of JL Audio MX650. Great speaker. Not sure how to handle mounting of your driver's speaker.
