    sv211 sub under drivers side

I saw somewhere on this site that someone had moved their sub to the drivers side. Could you provide photos? Do you still have access to the breaker panel? I just purchased an '06 team edition with the cooler door (very unhappy with cooler location and door). I wish to gain board storage for towing (would prefer out of sight out of mind with high dollar boards). I thought about leaving cooler in truck or floor of boat during towing and then moving cooler to storage area during boating.

RE: sv211 sub under drivers side

You might be thinking of mine. My boat is a SE. I chose the SE for many reasons including no circuit breakers in the way of the sub. That storage under the passenger area is priceless to me, the ice chest came out as soon as the boat made it home and has not been back since. The one under the back seat is big enough for me most of the time, otherwise we just put a soft sided cooler up in the bow. The computer is acting up, I need to re-boot to post pix.

Seat sub. Four high excursion 6.5" subs in a ported box. You can barely even hear the sub at the driver now. I am actually thinking of changing it to another 4 x 6.5 ported box.

            Mike,
I have seen your install. Very cool! However I have just purchased a Team and need access to the breaker panel. I have seen in a post where someone has moved the tube sub to the drivers side and am looking for help. I would love to redo the back jumb seat like yours. I also agree that the cooler sucks! The door sucks! You can't even open the cooler when it is in there!! The dealer only had this edition with the red hull, white stripe that my wife loved so we took it as it came. Thank you for input.

There is alot of space down there, I spent most of the afternoon there yesterday. I think you could do lots of things down in that space. Grant suggested I build a custom box and put 2 - 12W7s down there, he thinks there is adequate airspace. But I am happy with the system for now, with the seat sub.

In a team or limited boat with the breakers the install would be slightly more difficult but it's definately doable. The install is for sure easier than installing a driver footwell sub in a 210 and we have seen lots of those. Looking at my picture above you can probably build a false face just behind the little light on the right side. You would need to relocate the breaker panel to the new false face or provide an access to the panel. Henry looked at doing this in his TE and decided that it was not worth the trouble because it would have required extending some of the wires. If I had a TE I would just toss the stock sub, a single 10 is not enough to provide adequate sound regardless of your music tastes, and not worth the hassle of relocation. The seat sub is definately an easier solution than the driver's footwell. When Sound Illusions gets caught up with current orders I might talk to Clay about building a couple of these, offerring mine as a template. I know that Henry wants one after hearing mine, I am sure there are a couple other guys that would be interested too. If he could knock out 3 or 4 of them the price could be pretty reasonable, group purchase??? The air-space is adequete for a ported 12 or the four 6.5's. I chose the 6.5's because they have a little more surface area than a single 12, it should not matter too much from a box build standpoint.

Mike- I would be interested in a box for the jump seat. Would love to have one that is white gel coat like the other seats. However if cost is an issue your carpeted one does look good. Keep me posted if your friend can build these. It would still need access for the drain plug and v-drive oil. I guess if it was still removeable that would work.
