2001 SAN Speaker replacement help

All of the speakers are flush mounted except the one near the driver. Its recessed and too small to get a jl audio speaker in. Does anyone have any suggestions or pics of what you have done? There was a Polk 6.5 in it win I bought the boat...

You can try mounting it from behind. Then you might have to find a way to replace the cover that you cut. I just put a 6.5 in mine but I mounted it behind the cloth cover. I didn't take the panel off either, it was extremely frustrating because I could barely reach back there and I could not see anything. Good luck. Let us know how it turns out.
