2009 210 Upgrading subwoofer behind driver seat

I have a 2009 210 with the subwoofer behind drivers seat, I want to upgrade the woofer and get a cleaner sounding bass from the stock location. I have a few questions for anyone that has done this and looking for advice.
The problem I am having is I’ve upgraded the amps and when any bit of power was put to the stock Polk sub it wants to rattle stuff behind and mounted to that panel where the sub mounts, it’s sounds terrible and I want to fix it. I’m sure someone on here has done this.
    1. I was told to pick up a new free air subwoofer and reinforce the opening for this location to improve the sound, I have the new sub and was curious about the best way to reinforce the opening?
    2. Do I need to worry about the new free air subwoofer rattling stuff back there like the Polk does? I’ve never used a free air sub.
    3. Do I need to do anything to the space behind subwoofer, behind panel to help with rattles and get clean sound.
    4. Is it possible to get a good sound from stock sub location? Not looking to supply to the whole cove with music, Just want a nice clean sound for inside the boat
    5. Anyone on here done this upgrade and can share information on install and performance?

I replaced mine in my 230 and was really disappointed. I barely noticed a difference. I ended up selling the new one and putting a real sub in with an enclosure.

Thanks Mark that’s one thing I’m concerned about, doing it and it not much improvement.
What sub did you put in there and was it a free air sub? Did you reinforce opening?

#2 = stuff behind the wall rattling, can be more of a factor of the output off the rear of the woofer, then it being "free air". You could add some zip ties, insulation or foam, etc, to insulate or reduce movement of those pieces.

When the wall flexes, it takes away from the performance, and induces vibration into the hull. The wide/more reinforement you can place on the backside of the wall, the less it will flex. Also, proper amp tuning prevents fish-flop and over excursion of the woofer. This can reduce some of that unwanted noise.

As long as you got the "KMF" version and the 2 ohm model, you are good.

That helps and I will definitely add zip ties and insulate, Yes I did get the KMF 2 ohm version.
I am going to reinforce the backside of the wall properly tune the amp and see how it goes. If any members one here have done this upgrade please share your results.
          thank you

Any updates on this project? Curious to see how it works as I’ve noticed some rattle with the sub as well.
