Has anyone hooked up the MMR40 remote directly to the MM50? Think I have everything figured out, connected directly with the NMEA 2000 cable...had to use a T on one end and waiting on a Terminator cap.

Looking at how those NMEA 2000 networks work makes me wonder if I need to wire the NMEA 2000 cable to power source also or if the remote gets power from the MM50 head unit.

N2K does need a power supply. Some units will supply that power, but with many, you have install a N2K power harness to create the backbone.

10-4, thanks. The JL manuals does not indicate how it should be wired, just that the MMR40 can be connect directly to the MM 50 head unit.

Will reach out to crutchfield to see if they can help me.
