    Stereo Head Unit Rear Support

I just put a new sound system in my 1999 SN and I absolutely love my JL 650s and my Sony head unit! The Sony has a CD player (like my old one) but the previous owner did not install the back metal strap that stabilizes the back of the radio. I don’t want to screw directly into my dash pod, so I was thinking of using Marine Tex, and adhering a piece of plywood to the bottom of the dash pod, and screwing the metal strap to that, then attaching it to back of the radio.

I am looking for input on that methods or alternative methods you have used. I reall didn’t want it lose in the back like the old one.

    Thanks!

That would work. I have installed multiple amps that way using adhesive to secure a piece of wood then screwing into that to secure it.
    least intrusive method.
