Buzzing drivers' side, speaker next to seat...

Due to a buzzing sound that was emitting from the drivers' side, speaker next to seat, last summer I replaced that stock speaker and while I was at it - replaced all of them with new Sony Xplods.

The buzzing remains though. Is there some sort of design flaw in the speaker grill/cover on a 2001 Super Air Nautique that would be causing the buzz? It is frustrating. And due to the design of those grills, it is difficult to see what is causing the buzzing - without slicing the fabric that covers the speaker on that side.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Erik

    RE: Buzzing drivers

check connections on both ends and see if the speaker wire runs across a power wire, just a start.
    I don\'t care.

      RE: Buzzing drivers

It is only during bass - and I have even gone as far as installing bass blockers to prevent this... So it sounds like a physical thing - less than an electrical one. Just wondering if others have experienced the same thing...

by bass blockers to you mean filters?
what is your hpf set at on the deck?
        do you have an amp?
        I don\'t care.

Yes I guess they would be called high pass filters - or low pass filters... they filter out the lows... I had them on my Defender 90 before I sold it - and it seemed to work better in that thing than in my boat.

I dont know where to set my HPF on the deck - I use a sub amp, but the regular speakers are not amplified. To be honest I have never bothered to learn the menus on that clarion stereo - as I didnt plan to keep it for as long as I have. Just the "Z" settings. But the stereo buzzes on that speaker in all modes.

They look pretty much exactly like this - but I doubt they are causing the issue

I am going to be working on the boat all this weekend and if I dont manage to fix this... I lose. Seems like such a small issue and it really affects how loud I can play my stereo.

Put a layer of tape around the mounting plate before installing it.
