    Dual battery or bigger alt?

So I'm trying to figure this out. I have two small amps powering my sub and my 4 speakers. I don't think I am getting a good charge from the alt when the whole stereo is going and I have a feeling that the amps are drawing too much power for the alt to keep up charging the batter. Worse yet, it maybe screwing with my Electronic ignition system at idle. (stereo pounding, volt meter bouncing)
Is there anything I can add or do to ensure that I have power when I need it or i don't kill my battery?

    Thanks
    92 sn!

First of all, how big is your current alternator? If it's a 92 SN, then I'm sure it's no bigger than 40-50 amps. Next, how many watts are these "small" amplifiers that you have and what class amplifiers are they (e.g. A, D). Finally, what battery do you currently have and how old is it?

Once we get the details, then a more accurate assessment can be made.
